My kids are always disappointed when their father never picks them up, and when he does he's always so late, All they do is sit on the couch watching t.v and waiting.... What can I do to keep them more energized yet happy??? How do I pass time with them???

  1. Depends on the age of the child. Do something they are interested in. Board games, play house, color, dress up, play pretend. Use your imagination and cherish those times. They grow up all too fast.

  2. It depends how old they are...

But if they are younger, take them to the park or movies or something.. don't wait around for their dad, just take them out and their dad can wait for them to come back.. that way they aren't sitting around just waiting for him... being stood up is the worst feeling in the world. especially when its from a parent.. just keep their minds distracted

  3. How old are your children?

  4. it all depends on your children age.

  5. You need to let their father know that this is not acceptable.  If he wants to have a good relationship with your kids, they need to know that he is dependable and cares enough to come and see them when he says he will.  When he doesn't show up, it sends the message that they are less important than whatever else he's doing at the time.

Next time, if he doesn't show up within 15 minutes, take the kids somewhere else.  (If they will be very disappointed, don't tell them he's coming ahead of time).  When he calls to ask where they were, tell him you had other things to do besides wait for him.   If his irresponsible behavior continues,  tell him that he can no longer see the kids.  This may be hard on them, but so is the constant getting their hopes up, only to be disappointed.  He has to make a choice. You don't get to see them or take care of them only when it's convenient, nor would you want to.  Why should he?

  6. paint, draw, play chess, toss a ball around in the yard if you have a yard. bake a cake, teach the kids to make a salad, walk to a thrift shop, take them to get library cards(?), you know what you have in your home, be creative i know you can. Stay up!

  7. play board games
