How do I password protect my computer?

I have a gateway laptop with windows vista. I want to have have a password to sign on to my computer, but I don't know how to do this. Any help would be appreciated.

  2. You can password protect the entire computer log-on as Administrator, and also for each User Created.

    Each will have a different password set by the Administrator.

    Go to START > Control Panel > click User Accounts >

    click on the ID you want to assign a password to, such as Administrator >

    and then in the next window click Change Password.

    On that first screen, you can also click the option

    "Change the way Users Log on or Off" and set it to require each user to have to press CTRL+ALT+DELETE and give  their password to be able to log-on.
