I have an RESP fund, so what is the easiest way to pay for my university books in order to not have $500 worth of book purchases show up on my MasterCard?

  1. Take the money out of your bank and pay with cash.

Unless you're talking about online purchases. In that case pay cash to your friend and get him/her to order it online for you

  2. See if your school offers a "point program" or payment with your student account. If your school has a point program, you can purchase points to use as dollars to pay for books. The points only work on-campus, but you can use them to purchase books, food, supplies, etc. If your school allows you to pay with your student account, then you may be able to charge your total for books to your account at school, and not have to pay it until the end of the school year or semester (this is what I did throughout college). If you can't choose any of these options, then your only other options may be either to take out a student loan for the cost of books, or pay with your credit/debit card.

I feel your pain. Books can be incredibly expensive, and when you sell them back you won't get half of what you paid for them. I hope one of these options works for you.

    Good luck!
