I have to pay her $50 for 45 mins. I used to get a slip of paper with some receipt attached to it to give to her...but do I still get that paper? Do I pay her directly? do I still go up to the reception to sign in somehow? or what? (new york city if it matters)

  1. You'll have to ask her how it works.

  2. It really depends on how she's set up.  Sometimes you'll pay the therapist directly.  If she's in a shared office with other therapists and has a receptionist, or has her own receptionist, you'll generally pay the receptionist.

I'd suggest calling her office and asking - the receptionist or office manager should be able to answer your questions on payment and billing when your insurance isn't paying for the service.
