Trying to learn a new machine!! While performing a With and without contrast study for a neck and chest ... I started by selecting the chest C- and C+ contrast..... I went on and the surview scan performed as desired, however, It went straight to the Locator and the Tracker! I wanted it to give me an option where I perform a without contrast study first and combined so that I dont perform so many examinations on this patient and increase dosage. He had a head w/o contrast to do as well. What steps should I take? Did I select the right exam protocol?

  1. Are you kidding?  You're asking Yahoo!Answers how to run a CAT scan?

That's an  X-ray machine.  You don't want to mess up, since people's lives are in the balance!

If I were you, I would read the manual and/or contact the company to ask for training.  Or even ask your supervisor.

No matter what, you shouldn't just be trying it out on people!
