My Girlfriend has Borderline Personality Disorder. Why does she love me so much then within two days she looks for every little thing I do wrong. She can't even any say anything nice. How can it change so drastically. She's on pills but they don't help much. Anybody Got any techniques on how to deal with this. I love her, and I know she loves me. I just want to make it easier on both of us.

  1. She needs therapy.

  2. Read the book "Stop Walking on Eggshells" and "I hate you don't leave me".  Good Luck!

  3. Listen to her, love her, comfort her, BUT also tell her when she is hurting you or making you feel badly.  I am someone's borderline personality disorder girlfriend, and we just got through an episode. This is a personality disorder that there are no pills for.  There is however a special kind of therapy called DBT, or dialectical behavioral therapy. It's quite intense and involved but can be very helpful.  I also suggest the book "Feeling Good" by Dr. David Burns.

  4. the best advice i can give is to just understand that it's the disorder . when she gets in the moods and is really mean just don't let it get to you if you know she loves you .

be there for her whenever she needs you and be a sweetheart . when she gets in the moods don't try to argue or anything just let it be .

    goodluck !

  5. You should get in touch with the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI).  They will have information on her disorder. They also have support groups for loved ones and family members which can be a great source of information.
