How do I plan an 80's themed surprise sweet sixteen?! HELP!?

My best friend is turning sixteen in May and I have decided to throw her a surprise sweet sixteen bash. Her parents have agreed to help financially and they have gotten a restaurant with a party room. I really love parties with themes and since my friend is obsessed with the 80's, I have decided that is what she'll get. Unforunately, I don't know much about the 80's..I need help with everything from the invites to the party favors to the decorations and even a keepsake for the birthday girl..HELP!

hmm i would tell everyone to come with bright colors and alot of makeup !

as for the music, just type in 80's music in google and youll get many websites for songs. but deff go with michael jackson, cindi lauper, new kids on the block, annie lennox, madonna!

the favors could be personalized glowsticks! its not that much maybe like  60 cents each.

the centerpieces could just be like a clear vase  from the dollar store filled with different colored water and put tealights next to it to give it a glow!

let me think here. big hair do's, splatered paint, neon colors, jelly bracelets, big hoop earrings,

watch some old music videos, like madonna - like a virgin, new kids on the block, and cindy loper - girls just wanna have fun. that may help
