Question:

How do I play the "new and ruined" yahoo chess?

Does anyone have any #$@@$-ing clue how to really fix it so I can play on Yahoo chess. I played the new version one not (about 3 games) and thought it was pretty cool. Ever since, whenever I try to go back, I get the same "old version in you cache" BS. I have cleared my cache so many times as well as installing new java and flash players but nothing works.

I need a real answer.

I had one group tell me to come on over to a "real" chess server, freechess.com. What a load of Cahooie! It was like a flash back to the 80's complete with secret codes you have to enter to equal commands and everything. I was a wee bit nostalgic but I STILL WASN:T PLAYING CHESS.

can anyone help me?

  1. Recently Yahoo updated their chess software and you now need the new version. The first thing you will have to do is remove the old software. Standard clearing the cache does not remove game demos (deleting browser history old files clearing cookies, etc) They have to be deleted by selecting the Yahoo demo program manually. First click start button, then search, click on files/folders, type in yahoo chess. When file comes up, right click on it and then click remove. Next time you visit Yahoo chess it will prompt you to download the new demo of Yahoo's newest version of chess. Some people are having a problem with the above procedure. If so use this method; Go to tools on your tool bar, then select internet options, browser history, settings button, view objects. Select the game chess and then delete

  2. Yahoo chess is not a good place to play.

The best free server is FICS (Free Internet Chess Server).  This is where real chess player will go to play.  The ones who want to pay will play on ICC or Playchess.com.  The paid servers have more serious players and better control of cheating.

Your club chess player does not play on yahoo chess as it sucks.
