Question:

How do I plead my case before the librarian (or worse come to worst, the DEAN)?!?

I was in the library, searching through some stuff, and I was on Y/A! I asked a question, and someone sent me a link to a p**n site! The library clearly has a sign--a HUGE sign--that says: NO p**n SITES! all in bold letters and caps!

I got into trouble, and now, the librarian won't even listen to my case!

Thank goodness they haven't called my folks yet! They can do that! And I bet they will! Goddammit! What have I gotten myself into, this time? I swear I had no intention!

  1. First off be humble and drop the profanity.

Calling upon the Creator of the universe to d**n your situation will not help. –lol

Second, write a letter of apology to the librarian.

Talk with a counselor as to the best coarse of action in dealing with the politics of your schools administrative staff.  You may want to pursue a course that would make sure this sort of thing could not happen in the future.  The school should have some sites blocked.  Unless you were intentionally going around that, it did not work, as it should.  Your incident could be used as an example for the IT staff to improve that.
