I just recieved a guitar amplifier and a matching speaker cabinet and I sort of know what to do but just want to be sure...

the amp has 3 outputs on it. the first two are 'parallel speaker out' and then there is a '0dB line out' and then there is only one input into the cab. am I right in plugging the '0dB line out' into the cabinet?

thanks if you can help, I am only a new player so please don't flame me :-p

  1. If the speaker cabinet is passive, i.e., gets its power from the amplifier, then you connect it to the "Parallel Speaker Out" - you can connect two such cabinets to the two outputs.  The 0dB line out is to connect the preamp section of the amplifier into a booster amplifier.  You won't get any sound out of your speaker if you plug it into this output.

  2. try it, it won't break anything, but you're right.

  3. it would be easier if you told me the model of the amp and cab
