Question:

How do I politely quit a babysitting job?

I began babysitting a seven year old girl, Makenzie, last week three times a week for twelve dollars a day. She's a spoiled brat! I've been offered a babysitting job for a ten year old boy, Nick, five times a week for twenty dollars a day. He's a good boy! I prefer to babysit him instead of Makenzie, but I don't know how to politely tell her mother that I no longer wish to babysit her.

I've only babysat her for a week! So, how do I politely quit?

  1. just call the mom and say, I'm sorry I cannot babysit for you anymore because I have been offered another job that will be 5 days a week, so i cannot watch your daughter anymore.

and if the mom tries to keep you by uping the pay, just tell her..No i'm sorry and hang up.

Mom's are use to it. they are adults and talking like that, they should respect you as an adult.

  2. If you have a friend who wants the job you might recommend her.  You could be politely honest with the mother. Tell her that you really need more money or tell her that you think that you bring out the worst in Makenzie and that you think maybe someone else would be better at it.

  3. Wow your getting ripped off should be paying per hour!! Give them a weeks notice and just tell them it is not working out..

  4. TELL THEM YOU NEED TO DEVOTE MORE INTO YOUR FAMILY OR SCHOOL

  5. I would inform her that you have been offered a full time job elsewhere and that you will be unable to watch her daughter for her. If she tries to increase the money tell her her daughter if more then you can handle and you are taking the full time job. Thank her for the opportunity and hang up. I wouldn't give her any notice either. You aren't planning on using her for a reference and as much of a cheap skate as she is I doubt she would get you one anyway.Good luck!

  6. Just tell her that you won't be able to continue the job after a certain day. You should at least give her some notice so that she has time to prepare another sitter.

If she asks why, just tell her that it just isn't working out the way you thought.

  7. exactly like that you politely tell them that you are no longer available to babysit. dont worry they wont take it personally they know their daughter is a monster :)

  8. Tell them it isn't working out for you. And give them enough advance notice so they can find another sitter.

  9. Just tell her that you are sorry and somethings have come up or just tell her that her daughter is to hard for you to handle. Give her notice so she can find another sitter.

  10. Tell the mother you have too many commitments at this time and can no longer babysit Makenzie.

  11. just say you were only doing it to try the job out and now your not doing it anymore it's not like she'll find out.

  12. $12 a day???? tell her the $ is not cuttin it!!! seriously just be honest, tell her someone is offering you more money to babysit someone else. She doesnt really need a reason, if you want to give her one you can always just make one up

  13. when she calls and asks tell her your busy she will catch on

  14. Just tell her that you were offered a full time babysitting job and that you have decided to take it. But you may want to give her 2 weeks notice so that she will be able to find someone else.

  15. tell her that although you appreciate mackenzie, you have found a job with a better oppurtunity
