  1. something good to do is to practice setting the ball straight up as long as you can...do it for about 10 minutes a day...do the same thing except dig/bump the ball instead of setting it..also its good to work on your serving..that's one of the main things that coaches look at...if you can serve overhand...then try under hand..its a little easier and as long as you get the ball over the net..your coach should be happy

  2. -get some kneepads

    -use a volley ball net

-get someone to practice with that has some skill in the sport

    -have confidence

-take your time in your serves

    -call the ball

-when you spike the ball, flick your hand when you do it so it doesn't go out of bounce

-when you set the ball make your two index fingers and thumbs and make a triangle

    -most importanly have fun

  3. If you have a volleyball, start practicing passing so you can get use to it. Put your hands together like a "V" palms up. Then fold your thumbs over. Now get someone to throw the ball to you. It should be a about a foot above your head, nice and soft, and thrown with two hands for more control. While you are waiting for the person to throw the ball, keep your hands apart, your knees bent, leaning forward, in other words, knees in front of toes, shoulders in front of knees and hands in front of shoulders. When you see the ball coming to you, put your hands in the"V" position, watch the ball, step forward and hit the ball on the flat part of your forearms, not your elbow, or your wrist. Your goal is to try to hit up and a little forward, and this is using more leg power than hand power, so don't swing your hands alot. The first couple days you practice passing, your arms will sting, get red, and will most likely get small purple bruises like dots. Ice your forearms for 20 minutes each day until they get better. Soon, your arms will get use to passing and it won't sting anymore. Practice passing until you can control your passes and you're use to the motion. Good luck!

  4. The way that you should practice for the upcoming tryout is stay in condition and practice with the ball on bumping and setting..... the way to do that you bump the ball and try to sit on th ground at the same time you are bumping the ball and keep on bumping and then try to pick yourself up at the same time.... then you repeat the same steps for setting

  5. Go to a racquetball/squash court or any wall that is available and won't mess up a volleyball, and practice your digs and sets up close, or your spikes and serves from further away.

Volleyball is really more about being able to anticipate where the ball is going to end up on your side, so do some footwork drills, although the above practicing with a wall should help with this as well...

    Good Luck!

  6. you should try to condition yourself.and keep on practicing on your volleyball skills.(:and just member to believe in yourself.and to have confiedence.(=
