  1. when i was in 7th grade there was a little kindergartner on my bus and his mom and little sisters would walk him to the bus every morning and then be waiting outside to pick him up

  2. you can help him by pretending you are going on a bus see how he likes it

  3. Make him a cute little tag with his name and his bus number on it.

And don't forget to explain to him what to do each day in a way he can understand. Try to make him less nervous, if he is at all.

Let him know where he can go if he doesn't know what to do.

  4. what I do for my kids  because their still little is  I get an index card and write name, address my name phone number and contact number along with his pick up bus number  and location  drop off  as well as the school's name and get it laminated put a hole  small one just to add a string and tie it to the zipper so they will never have an excuse of losing it  . Also talk to the bus driver . My sons bus driver was awesome we exchanged numbers and anytime he was late he called me up to let me know.

  5. My kids' school had a day where kinders could come to school, meet their teacher, and take a short ride on the bus with parents.

If your school doesn't offer that, maybe take him for a ride on the city bus, even though it's not quite the same, just so he can get a feel for it.

The first day of school, I would walk my kids to the bus stop, make sure they got on okay, and then I'd drive my car to school and be there when they got off the bus. That helped reassure them, and after that they were fine.

I'll bet he'll be just fine...

usually the bus is the most exciting part of the day for kinders!

Oh...one more thing...go to the library and get a few books about riding the bus. There are TONS out there.

    Good Luck!

  6. write his bus number on his back-pack, explain to him what will happen & how to make sure he gets on the right bus (at our current school they put a colored dot on the kids hands with marker and a corresponding colored dot on the bus), walk him to the bus stop and wait with him, wave to him as the bus pulls away.  Drive to the school if it will make you feel better, but chances are he won't even notice you!  Tell him to sit near the front (especially if there is a wide range of ages on the bus), tell him that if he ever has a problem that he should tell the bus driver just like he would tell his teacher.

A number of people suggest sending a snack, but maybe check with the school or transport company before doing that - food is not allowed on my kids' school bus.

  7. five years old is a little YOUNG to be riding the school bus on his own!

  8. send him with a little snack to eat on his way to school

go to the bus stop with him and make sure he has a friend on the bus who he can sit by.

most likely you are way more worried than him. little kids make friends really easily. !

  9. My kids are in middle school. What I did was when my kids were in middle school was to meet the bus driver.(was very nice) I also would recommend having a older kid keeping an eye on him.(finding him a seat, and make sure get of bus to school safe).Since my kid had a 25 minute bus ride I packed my kid a snack and and a little surprise(car, sticker, note from mom).

I hope he has a good bus ride.

    Tips

Cheek with bus driver every to weeks just to make sure he is being a good boy.

  10. Look in the neighborhood for an older child to make sure your son is okay for the first couple days.

  11. Do you know any bigger kids (even if they're only a little bit bigger) who go on the same bus? Maybe if he meets them beforehand he won't be so nervous.

And make sure he knows what to do if he has a problem - I don't know what that would be, for my daughter it's speak to the driver.

  12. Well you have to let go he will return to you dont worry if you act scared then will be encougen to make new friends

  13. tell him to beat up the big guys

  14. Get to know the bus driver and introduce your son to him. Also tell your son to find seat close to the driver or with someone his age. And try asking if you could ride the school bus with him on the first day of school and take public transportation back home.

P.S. This september is going to be my first time on a school bus.( I'm only 11 and half)

    Good Luck

  15. if he has any friends that will be on the same bus as him he can sit wit them that away hes not afraid

  16. DOES HE LIKE AWARDS???,  SURE ALL KIDS DO, WHEN I SENT MY SON TO PRESCHOOL ON THE BUS, I WAS UPSET TOO, SOOO, HERE IS WHAT I DID, I ARRANGED EACH CHAIR IN MY LIVING ROOM TO SHOW HIM AND PRETENDED THAT WE ARE GOING ON A TRIP, AND MADE UP A STORY, ABOUT SCHOOL, AND THAT YOU MUST BEHAVE ON THE BUS, BECAUSE WHEN YOU GET OFF THE BUS, THERE WILL BE A SPECIAL AWARD FOR YOU, AND I WAS THERE EVERYDAY, WITH THAT SPECIAL AWARD IN MY HAND, LIKE A SPECIAL ICECREAM, OR SPECIAL CANDY BAR, OR SPECIAL, SOMETHING HE LIKES, THEN HE STARTED TO MISS ME, BUT I SAID TO HIM HEY LOOK AT THE WINDOW  gET A WINDOW SEAT, AND WHEN YOU LOOK OUT I WILL GIVE YOU A SIGN LANGUAGE THING, WHAT I DID WAS SIGN LANGUAGE HIM, I POINTED TO MY EYE , MEANING I AND HE DID THE SAME THING, BACK TO ME,   YOU TRY IT, POINT TO YOUR EYE, I  THEN LOVE IS A HAND ON YOUR HEART, AND THAT MEANS LOVE, AND POINT TO HIM AND YOU, MEANS   UUU, YOU, I LOVE YOU, SOO WE DID THAT, THEN WHEN HE GOT TO BE SECOND GRADE HE DIDNT WANT ME TO DO THAT NO MORE

  17. Explain to him exactly what he is going to do (ride the bus, stay in his seat, wait for other kids to get off, get off at his stop, etc.). Maybe in your car go on the route that he will take on the bus so he knows what to look for. Just don't make too big of a deal because otherwise he will think something is wrong and maybe there is something to worry about it. Good luck
