I want to salt them while STILL in the shell. That's the fun, tasting the salt then cracking them open.

  1. 1. Take out of shell

    2. Salt

    3. Eat

    4. Yum

  2. 1) Preheat your oven to about 200 or 225 degrees F.

    2) Get a shallow baking pan (I use one with sides about 1/4'' high) and either spray it with some Pam oil or wipe it with a little Canola oil or Peanut oil.

    3) Add the seeds to the pan, spreading them evenly. Spray oil lightly over all the seeds.

    4) Sprinkle a small amount of salt over all the seeds.

    5) Place the pan into the oven - leave the oven door open an inch or so for steam to escape and allow them to roast slowly for an hour or more until they look dry enough.

    6) Remove the seeds to a dish to cool, then serve as desired.  Enjoy!

    ALTERNATIVE METHOD (my favorite way):

Make a brine by dissolving about 1/2 cup of salt in a quart of water and soak the seeds in the water for an hour or so, then procede with step 3 above, omitting the spraying of the oil over the seeds and omitting step 4.
