Question:

How do I prevent an incoming unwanted magazine subscription?

A unknown caller saying a bunch of stuff like I've been submitted to a million dollar sweepstakes (not won) and that I've won an iced-out rolex for free that will be coming in the mail. Anyways, she said everything too fast and then she asked me what games I'm interested in. I said console games, specifically nintendo wii. And then she just proceeded to subscribe me to Nintendo power, which I didn't even give consent to. Then she hung up on me without giving me a chance to say anything.

I know I have not given any of my financial information (credit card) to anything so I don't know how they're gonna charge me for the nintendo power magazine. But I don't want to subscribe to that....

Do you get immediately charged when you get your first issue of a magazine? How do you cancel the subscription?

And is this a scam? I didn't give any financial information and they're still going to send me an iced-out rolex in the mail....

Anyways, this was over way too quickly and I'm confused......

  1. If you do get the magazine in the mail, just contact Nintendo Power and tell them you did not authorize any subscription and that you will not be paying for one. I definately would not contact whoever called you or give out any personal information to them.

I wouldn't hold my breath about the iced-out rolex though lol.

  2. well, you should have hung up but you didn't, so you have to deal with it

  3. if you don't want it then wait till they send the bill and write on it "I didn't order this so don't send again" then copy it and send it to them.If they keep sending it, you just got a free suscription.Keep the copy or the original note incase they try to s***w your credit.
