How do I prevent my cpu from Overclocking?

I have a AMD Sempron 2300+ 1.8GHz with 240 MB of Ram.

After minimal use of my PC it will automatically reboot causing me to lose valuable data if i happen to be doing some important stuff. It says I need to reset the clock settings to prevent it from going over in the CMOS menu, but I don't know how. Any help is appreciated. :]

  1. You should shut down computer, open case and remove CMOS battery from the board for about 10 minutes, this will reset the error your encountering, load default values in BIOS and re-confirm problem, if problem persist at that point it may be a memory stick, test each stick individually to verify if all memory is working properly...usually rebooting could be a result of memory.

  2. do nothing

usual amd and intel cpus (with the exception of the intel i7 architecture) dont overclock themselves...

    it's probably just overheating

open your case (really straightforward) by taking out the screws and prying it open and clean the fan

    just DONT USE WATER...
