How do I prevent static electricity?

When I was in school I get shock all the time when Im sitting on a chair or open the door. Somehow I don't want to feel it again... So how do I preven this? Touching metals shocking me at school...

  1. The air may be too dry. Try carrying something metal, like a quarter or house key, and touch in the metal object with it.  You should not feel nt shock, because the charge is not leaving on a tiny point on your finger or hand.

    If you have a school nurse, ask if the humidity is appropriate.  When air is too dry, it can cause respiratory problems.


  2. when your clothes rub against the chair it builds  up friction friction cause the build up of static, when you touch metal like a door k**b it is realeasing that energy to ground like electricity

  3. Don't shuffle your feet or wear nylon.
