How do I program a 1987 rca tv, lost the remote...

I can not see the writing on the 5 buttons in the front of the tv when I try to program it, the tv reads A01, A02, etc... it ends up on channel 60. I have it connected to cable (yes, it is in the right hook up in the back and the button in the back is on cabtv
