How do I promote a yahoo group for crafters that want to sell their items?

I started a Yahoo group for crafters that want to sell their items without having to pay fees to list on other sites, epsecially if you're just starting out and are not sure how well your items will sell. I don't know anyone else that makes crafts to invite and I don't have a website to promote it. I see tons of groups with hundreds or thousands of members but don't know how they get the people to join.

your group title needs key words, words someone would type to locate what you're group is about. there are many free web site hosts out there, sign up for one and create the title the same, with key words, then add your promote code.

add your link to craigs list

those groups with a ton of members, that didn't happen over night :) if you look at the date the group was founded, most have been around for some time and put a bit of work in gaining members.

good luck! give it some time, you'll gain members (crafting is popular!)
