I am reading "one hundred years solitude". It is full of Spanish names. I do not know how to pronounce them. If I do not know how to pronounce, I cannot remember these names.

The characters cover 7 generations. That is really difficult. Can you give me suggestions?

thanks

  1. How am I gonna tell you how to pronounce a name through text?

Just know how the Spanish vowel pronunciation follows.

    A, E, I, O, U.

    It's a rather long explanation.

Perhaps asking a person who speaks Spanish to help you with the pronunciation guide.

Also, do you know any Spanish? You should like

"Buen" (good) and "día" (day). That's the first family's name, "Buendía."

    Good luck

  2. How about using a text-to-speech software? Here a small, good one:

    TALK ANY

  3. "100 años de soledad"

A great book! But, yes!! it is a very difficult book...even in spanish!

  4. You pronounce spanish the same way you read it ><, it is really easy... or maybe you should go on skype, talk to a native speaker and ask all the things you wanna know :).

  5. there's several videos on youtube about the sounds that spanish letters make. it's actually much much simpler than english

    here's one of them

  6. In Spanish sounds are always the same, unlike English where the same spelling might be pronounced in different ways; in Spanish once you learn the sounds, the rules remain consistant.

  7. Convert all "C"s to a "Th." Then, as Lauren Bacall once said to Humphrey Bogart: "Just put your lips together and blow." Piece of cake!
