How do I pronounce my Polish surname - Wietczak?

I know that my Grandfather was from Poland, but I've never known how to properly pronounce my surname and have done so by phonetically pronouncing it (Weightsack). I would love to find out how to pronounce it properly. I have also been told that the letters should have accents or cedillas on some of them (similar to French). Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I would guess "white-check"...

The first syllable is similar to English word "yet", but you have to add a "V" in the beginning - "vyet".

The second one is pronounced exactly the same way as English name "Chuck".

So, "Wietczak" is pronounced "vyet - chuck".

The original spelling was probably Więtczak.(with a hook under the e). It is pronounced: "Vyent-chak"

A Polish web site I found also lists Wietczak as a surname without the hook; that would be pronounced: Vyet-chak.
