How do I protect s***w heads while painting. I do not want paint on the s***w heads in this case.Thanks! John?

It is for an outdoor metal box with stainless steel screws.

  I  might  use  Vaseline.  Possibly  applied with a  Q-tip.

Remove the screws before you paint or replace them temporarily with screws you'll throw away after the box is painted. If you can't do that put some tape on the s***w heads.
