I want to put ceramic tile down on the whole floor in my basement, but one section has linoleum floor that was professionally installed. I want to pull it up so my floor can be even when I put down the ceramic tile.

  1. If the currently installed linoleum and asbestos tiles are stable and firmly attached to the floor you can tile over the existing flooring.  Use floor leveling cement to even the floor height and start laying tile.   The cost of anything with asbestos can be very cost prohibitive.

  2. you have to have a professional remove it . because you have to wear protective clothing and it has to be disposed of properly.
