How would I pump water from a nearby pond into a house to use as a water source? There is no electric or gas on the property. And how does a gravity fed system work? What are some other ways to get water to the house cheaply?

  1. That water in your swamp is full of bactera, bugs and God knows what else!

I would drive a well point and use a hand pump.

  2. 1st, it may not be safe to use. Germs bacteria could be deadly.

Gravity means the pond has to be higher than the house, the pond must be on a hill higher than you

Use a wind mill pump or generate electricity with wind or solar.
