How do I purchase a used Police Charger?

I am interested in purchasing an old, used police Dodge V8 Charger. I know these cars have not been on the road for that long, but I know there have to be some out there for some reason that aren't used any more and up for sale. Where do I look for one? Do I need to find a police auction?

I know all the sensitive police equipment (electronics, lights, etc) will be removed, as this would be a project car for me. Any help would be appreciated!

There are specialty dealers that sell nothing but used police cruisers.  Just GOOGLE "used police cars for sale" and you'll find them.

I agree it may be hard to find a relatively new Charger at a police surplus sale but you should google "police surplus auctions xxxx" where xxxx is your city, or cities near you. What you'll find are dates and locations of auctions, but no list of specific vehicles or property. You would have to attend to find out.
