How do I put a password on my wireless account & make it a secured network?

I have a Belkin Wireless G Router.

I have tried putting a password on the account, and for some reason it would not work. I tried searching in google how & found nothing helpful.If there is anyone that is familiar with this router or can tell me how to secure my newtwork..Please help, my neighbors are stealing my connection right now!! Lol.

  1. You need to log onto the router by typing 192.168.2.1 into your browser window.

    You can then select the type of protection i.e. WPA, WEP, etc and the password that any computer accessing the router has to use.

    This will stop your neighbors stealing your bandwidth.


  2. You have to log in to your wireless access point and change the security setting from 'open' to WPA or WPA2(or maybe WEP if you have an older wap).  Under one of these security settings, it will allow you to setup a passphrase which will be the password you type in when trying to access the wireless network.  Is this where you were trying to put in the password?  If not, give that a try.
