How do I put a security code on my wireless connection?

I have a dlink router but I have no clue on how to set up a password for my connection

Read the instruction manual!, if you dont have it give us your model # dlink isnt very specific.

your router should have came with a cd. run that cd and you should be able to make a password for it. also some routers already have passwords. soe of them are on the bottom of the router. its very important u get a key/password for ur router because ur neighbors can use your connection which will make your computer slower

Open a browser and log in to the router.  Dlinks are usually at http://192.168.0.1 and the default login is username admin, password left blank.

If that doesn't work, open a command prompt and type ipconfig.  The default gateway is your router address.

Go to the wireless section and look for the security area.  Set a wpa passphrase (that you'll remember).

Look at your doc for step by step instructions, or online at dlink.com for your specific router.
