How do I put different ringtones for when i get a voicemail or text messages?

I heard that you can have a different ringtone for when you get a voicemail or a text message and stuff like that, so how do I do that?

It depends on what type of phone you have but generally it is done throught the setting menu on your phone under sounds.

1) go to menu

2) go to settings

3) go to sounds settings

4) go to alert sounds

5) pick txt mssg or voicemail or whichever one you want

6) then pick your ringtone for that

it really depends on your phone. To test it go to your ringtones and go to set as if it says you can set it as a voicemail and text message then you can if it doesn't then you can't. I have a samsung a437 and i can't do it
