Question:

How do I put my iPod onto another computer?

I have my iPod and my friend took it and put songs on my iPod on his computer. He spent about $75 on these songs so I don't want to lose all of these songs. When I hooked it up to my computer it said, 'The iPod is synced with another iTunes library. An iPod can be synced with only one iTunes library at a time. What would you like to do?' Then it says Erase and Sync and Transfer Purchases. I pressed Transfer Purchases and then it said 'Some of the purchased items on the iPod could not be transferred to your iTunes library because you are not authorized to play them on this computer.

The main question is:

DO I HAVE TO ASK MY FRIEND TO GIVE ME HIS PASSWORD AND AUTHORIZE MY COMPUTER?!?

  1. you will need to have a 3rd party tool to help you copy songs in your ipod to computer as itunes blocks the ipod-to-computer transfer, here is a review of top 5 ipod  copying softwares(windows/mac): http://www.ipodtocomputer.net

  2. You can try this software to backup songs, videos, photos in iPod to PC, copy iPod songs, videos, photos to new ipod, computer or notebook.

  3. Ah, this is an everyday problem with ipods. You see, when you first got your iPod, you were supposed to check the manualy sync button. That lets your ipod get music from any computer. You'll have to change your ipod's parameters (settings) to get it to work on all the computers. You'll be able to play the music/videos on your ipod, but you won't be able to play that shared music on the computer. (Since it asks for the password.)
