  1. you'll need:

    original 8mm camera

triple rca lead (probably on both ends)

    dvd home recorder

your video camera should have come with a lead that has three coloured RCA plugs. (yellow is video and red/white is audio left/right) with either a male 3.5mm mini headphone jack on the end or another set of RCA (red/white/yellow)

the camera should have a plug somewhere on it that looks like a mini headphone jack (female) or RCA plug. plug the lead into the cam and connect to yellow, red/white to the colour coded OUTPUTS of your VHS machine.

play back some tape on the video 8 and see if it's playing back thru the dvd recorder.

if not, set your menu on the video camera to AV IN (not out).

    see it? good!

hit record on your camcorder first and play on the VHS.

tip - make sure that they are small stretches of video being transferred to the camcorder. for some reason you often lose lip sync and it'll get progressively worse.

maybe a minute at a time is good if you can. simply stop on both units and fire it up again.

PS - this same method can be used to and from a DVD recorder or PVR if it doesn't have a fire wire system.

    hope it helps!

  2. By connect your 8mm camcorder to a dvd recorder and recording your videos to a DVD-R media.
