How do I put reaccuring tasks on my blackberry?

I can see the basics (where it says 'reaccurence') but it is not working for me. What I want is for it to remind me to make a phone call twice a week and normal reaccurence wont work for me...maybe im pressing the wrong thing when it pops up...should i say 'dismiss' or 'mark as completed' ?

also on my computer in outlook theres options to create a new one as soon as the first is completed but that isnt working for me.

I know I could do it in calender mode but I dont want that showing up in my calender as it is just a phone call...so if its possible to put something in your calender that doesnt show up in agenda or month view that would work too because all i want is a little reminder!

THANKYOU for whoever reads this long details section your help is appreciated!

  1. If you use the regular Task module you will probably need to set up a recurring task for each one of the days you want to make a call. So if you have to make a call on Tuesday and Thursday, you will create a recurring task for the call on Tuesday, and then a second recurring task for the call on Thursday. You will then set the recurrence to Tuesdays, once per week, for the first call and then Thursday, once per week, for the second call (or whatever days they are).

  2. These are the steps to set up a recurring task...

    Run 'Tasks'

    Blackberrry/Menu key, select 'New'

Put in the Task description "call Mom"

Go down to Due: and select By Date... put the first (next) date you want to do the task, say Thursday 21 August, 10:00 AM

Go down to Reminder and put Relative... select to be reminded, say 15 minutes before it's due.

Go down to Recurrence and select Weekly.  On the 'Days' line, ensure Thursday and Tuesday are highlighted (or whatever two days you want).

You'll now see two lines further down, it says "Occurs every week on Tue, Thu."

    Press Blackberry/Menu and select Save.

    That's it!

When the alarm buzzes, do 'Mark Completed'   When you look at your task list, you'll see "call Mom" twice... the completed instance and the next instance.

    Cheers

    Steve
