How do I put video's on from my camcorder to my computer?

I have the Canon DC310 and I don't know how to put my video's on the computer.. Like, say I want to put it on youtube how would I do that? And I didn't get a USB cable with it... *confused*

Please help me.. =)

  1. you need a usb cable. did any cable come with it? If so, use that. The instructions should say.


  2. You can't just copy files of a video DVD - they're in a format that Windows Explorer can't handle.  You can rip them with DVDDecrypter.

  3. i think the dc310 is suppose to be a DVD recording cam. which means the output is a DVD. before putting the DVD you need to finish or finalize the DVD. (look for the steps in your cams manual).

    after finalizing it should work on your computer. copy the VIDEO_TS folder to your hard drive. and look for the biggest .VOB files. those are your video files.

    To convert these files you need to have some kind of video conversion tool. but you can also use windows movie maker too. you cant import vob files directly to movie maker. a quick walk around is changing the extension of your VOB to MPEG. this works sometimes. or else you should get a conversion software such as Nero recode or Nero vision.
