Question:

How do I quickly get my heart to start beating regularly again?

I went on vacation last week and ate out at a restaurant for lunch and dinner every day for four days, and otherwise ate junk food the rest of the time. Since then, my heart has been beating very heavily and sometimes irregularly. I know the cause is from eating terribly and not having enough exercise while I was on vacation, but since returning to my regular home-cooked meals and added movement throughout the day, my heart is still beating heavily. What are some heart-healthy foods and activities I can do to help the poor thing out so I don't have a heart attack?

  1. THis sounds like Atrial fibrillation,or sinus tachycardia.  You can try bearing down ( like you are trying to have a BM ) to stop this, if this doesn't work, you may need to see a Dr.  Food dont really cause this, dehydration caused by lack of fluids, or alcohol, can cause it.  Another cause could be too much caffeine.  You really need to get this checked out.  Also, take an aspirin a day till you speak with your Dr., unless ofcourse you are allergic to aspirin.  Hope you feel better.

  2. get a pacemaker

  3. Go to your doctor. If you have any concerns that are high priority (such as your heart or lungs or anything really) go to your doctor immediately. (S)He'll be able to answer any questions you have and if (s)he can't they can send you to someone who does.

But in the mean time, if you can't to a doctor like...now....keep eating your meals right. Make sure your plate is colorful (veggies, fruits, bread, all that good stuff. Make sure it's all different colors. lol) and DRINK WATER. I've been all over the hospital during my life because of my health and the NUMBER ONE thing they tell me OVER and OVER again is

    "DRINK. YOUR. WATER. NOW"

But again, get a doctor appointment asap. =3

  4. Regular jogging. I had the same problem. The only way is jogging. Please don't run. Don't take in food before jogging. Take care. :)
