How do I "wing" my eyeliner?

I can never get the eyeliner to wing up?-just makes a messy smudge

ooh i luuuuv winged eyeliner! the cat eye is so pretty. i do it with my eyes. so u can do it with a pencil or liquid liner. use your finger to slightly stretch the outside corner of your eyelid out towards your temples. glide the eyeliner across the eyes and past the end of your eyelid. hav a cotton swab dipped in moisturizer ready and waiting so you can clean it up and make it pointed and perfect. good luck!

The liquid liner is the best to use because it creates a solid sooth line. Just line your lashes like usual and when it comes to the winging part a trick is to also take something with a straight edge (playing card, etc.) and use that as a guideline to where your going to apply the liner. Just gently pull the skin to create a smoother skin line to reduce any chance of smudging.
