How do I raise chickens the organic way?

I am a newbie in raising chickens. I started the first batch #Barreds and 3 brown leghorns in the second part of April and the next one (2 Americaunas)in May. I get the feed from the local feed store.Thanks in advance for the advise.

To raise chickens organically you need to feed them organically grown grain with no added medications or hormones.  I started my chickens that way once because I wanted organic eggs.  Blue Seal has a line of organic feeds that cost almost twice as much as their regular grains.  The biggest problem with them is they sometimes aren't available because the feed mill can't get enough organic grain.  Now I feed Shur Gain "natural feeds" to all my livestock.  Shur Gain doesn't guarantee that the grain is organic but they don't add any antibiotics,  growth hormones or artificial binders to the feeds.  The price is much nicer,  too.
