  1. It depends on your teacher and what they base your grade on. Most of my teachers did it on participation, homework, and overall ability. Read as much as you can to get better at it, it will expand your vocabulary and help you become a better reader. Just do what you have to do and it is almost impossible for your grade not to be raised =]

  2. Ask for feedback from your tutor on how to improve, most tutors are happy to provide this!

Also, before handing work in ask someone to read through it for you as other people sometimes spot mistakes you have missed.  A fresh pair of eyes is always good

  3. you could try looking for tips at the library,

look for books that have reading speed or accuracy on it.

i also did research on color psychology before,

and it showed that covering your page with a transparent green sheet helps your concentration and memory when you finish reading it.

you can get a green transparent sheet at like Shopper's Drug Mart or something, they use it as wrapping paper.

  4. readmore than u do now and try to set up a goal to read more boks per week i got 91 in lang. arts its not good

  5. Try taking a speed reading course, I found that helped alot

  6. read. work harder on your homeworks. think outside the box.

  7. ask the person in your library to recomend books for you. Read and read and read them. My little girl did the same thing and she can read as well as my 8th grader and she's in 4th grade!

  8. You could go to tutoring and go to the library and pick up a book on metaphors, similes and all that reading stuff.Havent Had reading since 7th grade so this response could be a little rusty

  9. read ???

  10. It depends upon what your teacher is grading.  The best thing to do would be to see what kinds of things the teacher grades, and focus your attention on those particular things.  The best thing to do would be to ask her what you can improve upon.  Then have your parents look over your homework and quiz you on your spelling words nightly.  Read at home 30 minutes at night and make sure the books you are choosing are on your reading level (if you don't know more than 5 words on the page, the book is too hard, but if you're just flying through, the book is too easy).  Make an extra effort on all of your work and even try to turn in an extra project or two (make a diorama of a scene from the book you are reading or turn an important part into a comic strip).  All of these things will help make you a better reader, whatever your grade may be, but if you're really shooting for the A, try those suggestions, and seriously, communicate with your teacher.

  11. umm...wow I haven't had reading class since i was in 7th grade....and I was only 12 then and that is too young to be on Yahoo answers but ok.....maybe concentrate more on the book your reading and try to read books that u might find interesting
