I need specific train/bus lines and stations/stops. Schedules are unnecessary but helpful. Thanks!

  1. 1 - either) from Orvieto or Bagnoregio to Rome (by FFSS Railway?); then back to Calcata, as you already now (more details here - click on "where" http://www.calcata.info/enindex.html );

    1 - or) from Orvieto or Bagnoregio to Viterbo (very nice town to visit); then from Viterbo to Civita Castellana or Rignano Flaminio by North Rome Railway (it goes from Rome-Piazzale Flaminio to Viterbo, via SAXA Rubra, Rignano Flaminio, Civita Castellana), then from there to Calcata by bus (the same one that you get in SAXA Rubra);

    2) back from Calcata to Rome, as you already know or by North Rome Railway from Riano Flamino/Civita Castellana.

    I don't know what solution is faster!

    Enjoy your tour!

    EDIT

    If I were in your shoes...

    1 - Orvieto to Viterbo by Trenitalia Railway (in Viterbo Trenitalia Fiorentina Station is next door to North Rome Railway station)

    2 - Viterbo to Civita Castellana by North Rome Railway.

    3 - Civita Castellana to Calcata by Coltral bus.

    4 - Calcata to Saxa Rubra by Coltral bus; then Saxa Rubra to Roma by North Rome Railway.

  2. go to trenitalia.com

    it has every train in italy....very helpful, cheap, and easy.

  3. www.trenitalia.com is the official site of italian trains sistem. you only have to select the names of the stations and the city, then the day and the hour you are going to travel or you want to.

    Let me explains just things: regional (R) is the less expensive train. It tooks more time to get arrive because it stops each little town, usually is used by workers. Inter city (IC) tooks just a little time less but is more comfortable and beautifull. Erostar (ES) is one of the most expensive, beautifull and fast.

    have a good travel!
