How do I reactivate my firewall?

Question

I run Firefox on Windows. My firewall is disabled an I get tons of pop ups. When I go to the control panel and click on the firewall I get these errors: "Windows firewall services cannot be displayed because the associated service is not running. Do you want to start the Windows/firewall sharing (ICS) service?" I then click yes and get this: "Windows cannot start the ICS service."

go to run

type services.msc  , then press ok

when the services window opens scroll down to Windows Firewall and right click it and choose start or restart

1.   Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Services.

2.   Double-click the service that did not start.

3.   Click the Log On tab.

4.   Verify that the service has not been disabled for the hardware profile that you are using. If it has, click Enable.

5.   Click the General tab. Verify that the service has not been disabled in the Startup Type box. If it has, click Automatic to have it start when you start the computer.
