Whenever I'm reading a finance section it will say these are the numbers in millions, but how do I interpret this?

  1. multiply each number to 1,000,000 and youl'll get the exact value.

    21,476.22 is 21,476,220,000

  2. million

    billion

    trillion

    quadrillion

    quintillion

    That means:

    a)  13,244,565,377.22 would be

    13 quadrillion, 244 trillion, 565 billion, 377 million, and 220 thousand.

    b) 65,377.22 would be

    65 billion, 377 million, and 220 thousand

    c) 1,324,45 makes me wonder why there is a comma between the two 4s so I guess that's a typo.  If that was meant to be 132,445, that would be

    132 million, 445 thousand.

In all cases, the person above me is right.  if figures are presented in millions, you just multiply whatever number you've got by 1,000,000 to get the absolute value. so if they say 2.5 is in millions, that would be actually

    2 million, 500 thousand.
