Question:

How do I reattach a facing portion of cement siding to the plank it split away from?

We have a home built in 1995 with concrete siding that looks like clapboards. Apparently moisture got into a plank just under an upstairs window. With the freezing temperatures of the winter here in New Hampshire, a portion of the face of the plank split away and lay down neatly on the porch roof.

I would dearly love to glue this back into place, at least as a stopgap measure. It's less than 2 feet long, about 4 inches high, and about 1/4 inch thick. Any suggestions?

  1. Any good construction adhesive will hold it in place.Just use a good quality tape to hold it while the adhesive dries.
