Question:

How do I record AV channel?

I took my camcorder on holiday and have bits of footage on three camcorder tapes (VHS-C) that I want to show family. I have the leads to watch the tapes from my camcorder to the TV on AV channel, but I cannot seem to tune my video into this channel to record the best bits. Is it possible to record the AV channel do you know?

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks

  1. connect the cables to the vcr

  2. If your TV has an AV connection on the front panel, you can plug in there(I use this for digital camera pics). You have to change the AV setting on your TV from rear to front, to do this.

  3. You can't record from something that is directly input to the TV.

You need to connect the cables to the VCR. You may need a SCART adapter to let you connect the red, white & yellow cables...

  4. You would have to connect your camcorder into the VCR directly. On your VCR there may be three plugs - white, yellow and red - for the corresponding coloured cable for the camcorder and you would connect camcorder to this and switch VCR to AV channel and you should get picture.

However, the likelihood is that the connection would be scart. You may have a scart connector that came with camcorder, if not electrical shop can supply one. You would plug the coloured cable to the connector, plug scart to a scart socket in VCR and switch VCR to AV, as above.
