How do I record a vhs tape to dvd?

I have a dvr, but when I go to record the vhs tape it says I cannot do it. This vhs tape does not come in dvd and our school has taken away our vcrs and replaced them with dvd players. HELP! Thank you!

I think Walgreens has a service where they do that. Or find and audio/visual store in your town. Or, if worse comes to worse, buy on of those VCR-to_DVD machines, use it, then return it.
