How do I record from my Cox Digital Cable box to an external VHS player?

Is it possible to do this? I don't have a DVR on the cable box.

The box should have an analog coax RF output.  Take that output to the antenna input of the VCR.  Set the VCR to record channel 3. Take the RF output of the VCR to the TV so you can see what you are recording. Set the TV on channel 3.
