  1. It's hard to say as all DVD recorders are a bit different, but lets start with the basics. First of all, make sure the connections are right. Connect the A/V OUT of the DVD recorder to the TV's A/V IN. Take note of which video line you are plugging it into in the TV (is it video 1, video 2, etc). Then connect your camcorder via A/V cables to the A/V IN on the DVD recorder. Sometimes, DVD recorders have two "IN" channels; one in the front is usually Line 2, and the one in the back is usually Line 1, so make note of this as well.

Now make sure the settings in the DVD recorder match that of the connections, go to the respective TV VIDEO channel and go to the DVD recorder menu. If you are using A/V cables rather than S-Video, make sure you specify that in the DVD recorder settings. (A/V cables are those red, white, and yellow ones). Now, set the TV to the appropriate Video channel (Video 1/vidoe 2, wherever you inserted the Recorder into the TV). Press play on the camcorder, and your footage from the camera should appear on the TV screen. Press record on your DVD recorder.

These steps may vary slightly depending on your DVD recorder and TV, but I imagine them to be similar. Good Luck!
