I'm really into running but my left knee always hurts after because my left leg is slight shorter. Are insoles are good option or do I need a custom-made shoe?

  1. You can put and insole in the one shoe to raise up your leg. Your doctor/physical therapist can get a riser for you also.

  2. You can get custom made inserts from a podiatrist, or try a heal lift in the short leg shoe.

If it hurts you are doing damage to your legs, hips, knees, and back.

  3. that problem is very common all you need to do is put insoles in my sister and i each have this problem and we are also really into running

i use superfeet and she uses this one green one go online and research superfeet they have everything to help with feet and knee problems in running shoe

    i hope this helps :)

  4. Get a stilt for one leg.

  5. My dad has one leg that is a bit longer than the other. He used to wear normal shoes and just put insoles in but his knee was constantly in pain. He also really enjoys running so his doctor advised that he get costume made shoes. It helped him alot and he ran the Peachtree Road race without the severe pain I know he would have had if he had been wearing regular shoes. I think that having a build put on one of your shoes would making walking as well as running much more comfortable for you. Without it you could really damage your joints and cause yourself alot of pain. Hope this was helpful and good luck with your running!

  6. Definately see an orthotist, get custom made inserts for your feet.  Do not buy insoles at a pharmacy, they are only designed for your average person with no orthopedic problems.  Custom made shoes are extremely expensive, talk to an orthotist and get their opinion.  Don't run too much without the proper support, you could do some damage to your knees and back.  With good inserts (custom) you should never have to run with pain again.

Do this for yourself, especially if your passionate about running, you'll have a much longer running career :)

    Run happy and train smart:)
