No infection, just constant draining down my nose and throat, with consequent blowing and sniffing all the time. The ENT specialist says that, as an older male, I shall have to just put up with it but perhaps there is something that will reduce the problem?

  1. Try a nettie pot, also could be called a sinucleanse.  Go to your local drug store, they probably have one in stock.  This may sound stupid, but it worked for me.  Just remember to follow the directions and keep your mouth open while using it.

  2. It sounds like you have an allergy problem. Pollen, mold, dust, food, light, smoke, chemical or air pollution. Try this. Make a sterile sleeping room. Clean your house and the room you sleep in. Use sheets and change them one time per week. Remove carpet and drapes as they hold dust mites and don't change clothes in your room or open the windows. Use a window air conditioner or put a filter on the floor vents to keep the conditioned air cleaner when it enters your room.

Certain foods make my nose drip such as; crustaceans. Avoid foods or animals that may make it worse for you. Alcohol consumption may exacerbate the problem. Use a nasal saline nose spray often and blow it out gently after it fills up.  Do it a few times per day.  Or, see an allergist and get tested for allergies.

  3. keep blowing your nose

  4. You can drain your sinuses out by eating ginger roots... perhaps you need to cleanse it out by adding ginger to your daily diet.

Also, drink your 8 glasses of water every day... this dissipates the mucus and will likely help.

It may also be a low-grade allergic reaction.... if you find someone in your community who sells honey that is locally... grown? Then you should buy some and eat it. The bees that collect the pollen create honey that helps your body fight the unique blend of allergens in your area.

My dad has drainage/allergies and this has helped him cope.

I have a similar problem, but it's definitely not to this degree.

    Good luck!

  5. It's from allergies to something in the air. You need to take an antihistamine like Claritin. They have  one that you only have to take once in 24 hours.

  6. Zyrtec, can help as well as drinking alot of fluids!
