How do I register a cooperation? LLC or INC?

I am starting a business and I want to register it e.g.

mycompany INC. etc. I know alot of companies like "world wide pants" or HARPO are those actual orgs or just names? In any event how do I go on to register and become an actual company?

Contact your state's Secretary of State's Office.  They are the ones in charge of registering business names.  Our state allows you to do this online and pay a small registration fee online also.  Very easy to do - it usually takes me 10 minutes.  

Don't pay extra fees for online companies to do this for you (unless you have money to waste).
