  1. There is a site that has Bernina sewing machine manuals. www.sewingonline.co.uk has a bunch of manuals for this type of machine.  I just don't know what model you have, so maybe this site could help you?

  2. Hello, I am a Bernina tech and have worked with Bernina sewing machines for over 35 years.  When I explain how to insert your hook into the machine I use the "smiley face" method:

With your machine OFF, turn the handwheel in the sewing direction (towards you) until the hook driver (the curved piece of metal that drives the hook) is in the lower half of the race area, forming a "smile."  Holding the hook by the center-pin, turn it until it forms a "frown" and put it onto the driver part.  Close the race cover and again turn  the handweel in the sewing direction to ensure the machine turns easily without any resistance or excess noise.  Then put a drop of oil on the race groove (where the hook rides) and re-insert the bobbin case with a full bobbin and sew a few inches on a scrap of cloth to remove any excess oil before sewing on your project.  This last step should be used anytime you oil your machine to prevent oil stains on your projects.  Any questions?  davidstellmon@yahoo.com

  3. It should have 2 little bumps on it that will fit over small pegs in the hook race Just put it in any old way and start turning and wiggling til you feel it snap into place. You need to take it out anyway, to clean out lint whenever you change a bobbin.
