Question:

How do I remedy my fan problem in my surround sound system?

I have a Samsung HT-X50 DVD/Surround sound system I received as a christmas present from my boss this past December. The system is great but in the past couple of weeks the fan has been making a loud noise as if something is catching on the fan when it runs. As far as I can tell, there is nothing obstructing the fan's path or gears as it runs but I have not taken apart the fan to see. Other than the fan, nothing else is messing up.

  1. you cant make a remedy, take it to samsung service center and they will fix it.

  2. It should still be under warranty, and since this isn't a easily consumer fixed problem take it in for service. You won't have to pay for it, and you will get it done right.

  3. The fan's life should be about 4 to 5 years (if running continuously).

Either the bearings are worn out or the brushes, but most probably it's a brush-less motor. I had to replace mine.
