  1. Go to bed tonight promising that tomorrow will not be your "skip day"!!

  2. Write a running journal or record your running days on the calendar or program it in your cell phone.

  3. Well, you dont need to run every day so dont feel bad about missing the odd day. I tend to run 3 or 4 times a week. You could decide which nights of the week are most suitable for your running and then when its that night go out for a run at a set time (for example, to make running fit around the rest of your life, not make your life fit around running). Then all you have to do is remember which day of the week it is.

It is hard to get into a routine of going out running regularly and sometimes things happen and you cant get out so dont feel too bad about it. If you are going to be running cross country next year then you can afford the odd off week solong as you manage a few runs on the next few weeks

So my advise is to get a calender and run on a set day each week to make yourself run

  4. You either want it bad enough or you don't.

Set a time aside everyday. Run a timed set route. Improve your time, everyday. On your day off go swimming or for a walk during that time.
